ABOUT THE FOUNDER, AARON A. WEISS
Bio
Aaron Weiss is the lead instructor and course designer.
Aaron loves to teach! As an educator, he has taught and created courses and/or workshops for elementary, junior high, high school, college, and university students. In addition, Aaron has run after-school programs, summer schools, and tutored high school and college students.
Aaron has also been a program partner of the Toronto District School Board.
Aaron has designed and taught courses for junior and high school students, such as Academic Writing, Public Speaking, Critical Reading and Creative Writing, as well as two courses for a university: 'Trauma: From Origins to Interventions' and 'The Sociology of Mass Media'.
During his tenure as a TA at York University, he received the highest departmental score in course evaluations submitted by students.
Aaron recently co-produced and co-wrote an interview/profile on Wanda Robson, the sister of Viola Desmond, to the Toronto District School Board to serve as an educational tool for students.
Prior to working as an educator, Aaron was recognized as one of the youngest television producers in North America at the age of 13. Aaron Alan Weiss has been involved as a producer, director, host, writer, distributor, documentarian, song writer, and journalist in the media industry on radio and TV. He has a BA in Radio and Television from Ryerson University, a Masters in Cinema and Media Studies, and is completing his PhD in Humanities at York University.
Comics are central to his thesis, form part of his teaching tools, and is also his hobby.
